The Way Station food pantry, founded in 1987, is an ecumenical food pantry supported by the churches of Richmond Hill. It currently serves over 100 households a month in South Bryan County. The pantry is open every Thursday from 9 am until 12 pm and is totally run by volunteers. In addition to food, the pantry also has a clothes closet and various small household items available to clients at no cost.
Family Promise of Bryan County collaborates with local churches and social services agencies to help families become financially stable and independent. They provide food, shelter, and support services for homeless families. They also provide advice and advocacy for at-risk families to prevent their becoming homeless and educate people about poverty and the means to combat it. Their mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.
Food for the Soul is an ecumenical community soup kitchen serving over 300 meals to the needy in our area. Every Thursday volunteers prepare food, package meals, deliver meals, and share the love of Christ. Donations of canned and dry goods, as well as pet food, are always welcome.
